MintMemory · The Annual Collection

One ornament a year. Every year.

Same brass disc. Same shape on the same hook. This year's family photo, this year's stamped year. Twenty years from now, your tree tells the whole story.

How it works

One subscription. Twenty years of tradition.

You commit to one ornament a year. Each November we ping you for that year's family photo + short message — your card from the year. Dec 1 it ships. Hang it on the tree. Repeat for two decades.

01

Pick your engraving

Choose the rim engraving once — usually the family name. "The Smiths", "For Sarah + AJ", "Est. 2018" — sets the tone for every ornament going forward.

02

Send your November photo

Each November 15 we send a 1-tap link asking for that year's family photo. Upload from your phone in 10 seconds. Or skip — we'll pull the hero photo from any MintCard you sent that year.

03

It ships Dec 1

The disc ships the first week of December — your photo inset on the front, this year's number embossed on the rim, a QR on the back that plays the matching MintCard. On the tree by week two.

Year 01 · The disc

Solid brass. Designed to be hung in 2046.

We chose brass because it patinas. A 2026 disc looks new this year and looks lived-in a decade from now — the same way a wedding ring earns its history. Nickel-plated tarnishes; aluminum looks cheap. Brass tells you it's been on a tree for a while.

  • 3.5" solid brass disc · ~85g · weighty in the hand, balanced on the branch
  • Your family photo permanently inset on the front · UV-protected printed enamel
  • Year embossed on the rim ("2026 · YEAR 01") so every disc in the series is identifiable at a glance
  • Family engraving repeated on the back ("The Smiths · Est. 2018") — chosen once on Year 01, locked for the series
  • QR code etched on the back → plays that year's MintCard. Scan in 2046 and watch a 2026 you
  • Hand-stitched walnut leather loop · ages with the brass
  • Gift-boxed in a numbered linen-wrap presentation case
What you'll have

Year 01 is one ornament. Year 20 is a story.

The point of the Collection isn't the disc you get this December. It's the row of discs hanging on the tree in 2046, each one a small heavy souvenir from a year you might otherwise forget.

01

2026 · This year

"Our first MintMemory ornament. Looks great alone on the tree."

05

2030 · A small row

"Five discs side by side. The kids notice the years. The 2026 photo already looks like a different family."

10

2035 · A decade hanging

"Ten years of brass. The patina is starting on the earliest ones. Hanging them is the ritual now."

20

2046 · A generation

"My daughter is grown. She scans the 2026 QR and watches a card her dad sent her mom before she could walk. Doesn't put it down for an hour."

Questions worth asking

The fine print, plainly.

What if I forget to send my photo in November?
We auto-pull the hero photo from the most recent MintCard you sent that year. If you didn't send a card, we email you a few times in late November. If we still hear nothing by Dec 1, we skip your shipment for the year and don't bill you — no lost discs.
Can I change the engraving after Year 01?
The family engraving is locked from Year 01 onward — the whole point is consistency across discs. The year number changes each ornament (obviously) and the photo changes each year. If your family circumstances change (new baby, new partner, loss), we have a one-time engraving update available for $15.
What happens to the QR codes if MintMe goes away?
Honest answer: we've put aside a perpetual hosting reserve to keep your QR-linked videos accessible for a minimum of 20 years from your Year 01. If MintMe shuts down before that, the hosting reserve transfers to a long-term archive service (Internet Archive partnership pending). The brass disc itself doesn't care — it'll still look great hanging on a tree.
Is the QR code visible?
It's etched on the back, kept small (~12mm) and patinas with the rest of the disc. From the front, the disc looks like a classic brass ornament. The QR is a quiet trigger you only see if you flip it over.
Can I gift the Collection to someone else?
Yes — at checkout you can specify the engraving + recipient address. We send the first disc as a gift announcement card; subsequent years bill the gift purchaser unless they transfer the subscription to the recipient. Common for grandparents gifting to a new family.
Are these the same as Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments?
No. Hallmark Keepsakes are mass-produced collectibles you choose from a catalog each year. The Annual Collection is one solid-brass disc made to your family's spec, repeating the same form across years so the collection has visual continuity. Closer to a Tiffany annual ornament in feel, at a fraction of the price.
